After I completed my TT swap I cranked the car over last night for about 5secs, just enough to read oil pressure on my gauge and get oil flowing. I let it sit over night, and went to check the dipstick today to see how the levels were (because the oil cooler had been previously drained). Well I went to remove it and it was stuck. I know I had pulled it in and out before I put the motor into the car, so I pulled hard the handle busted off. So I got a pair of vice grips and pulled even harder on the remaining cord. It busted free, but tore off the bottom piece of the dipstick that you read the levels with. To see where apparently this was snag'd, I got out my old NA dipstick and slide it down into the tube. It goes all the way down and up freely w/o any hard spots. So I guess the end of my dipstick is floating somewhere in my oil pan! Any ideas on how to retrive it? I figure first step is to drain the oil and pray it flows out, tho I figure thats kind of doubtful. Word is dropping the oil pan (and I can imagine it being true) is next to impossible with the motor in the car..... It appears as tho the end of the dipstick is also aluminum, so no way to snag it w/ a magnet huh? Arr... What do you guys think I should do?
